Electric Field between Two Plates
Electric Field due to an Infinite Plane sheet of Charge—
Let us consider an infinite thin plate of positive charge having an uniform surface charge density on both side of the sheet.
Electric field is normal to the plane sheet of charge and directed in outward direction.
Let us assume a cylindrical Gaussian surface of area of cross section ‘A’ through the point P. then,
Electric Field due to a Line Charge--
Let a thin infinitely long straight line charge having a uniform Linear charge density ‘’.
Let Pbe the point at a distance ‘r’ from it at which electric Field has to be calculated.
A Gaussian cylindrical surface of radius r is assumed. Now,
Gauss Theorem—
It states that the total electric flux through a closed surface enclosing a charge is equal to 1/ε₀ times the magnitude of the charge enclosed.
