Submitted by deepak on Tue, 01/10/2023 - 10:51Modulus of Rigidity (Shear Modulus)
The modulus of rigidity is a physical quantity that measures the ability of a material to resist deformation when a shear force is applied.
In simple words, it tells us how difficult it is to change the shape of a material without changing its volume.
Definition:
The modulus of rigidity is defined as the ratio of shear stress to shear strain within the elastic limit of a material.
Electric Potential
Submitted by deepak on Fri, 04/17/2020 - 23:54Electric Potential—
The Electric Potential at a point in an electric field is defined as the amount of work done per unit positive test charge to bring it from infinity to that point against the electrostatic force due to the Electric Field.
If V is the electrostatic potential at a point A in the electric field of point charge +q and W is the work done in moving it from infinity to that point against
the electric force.
V=W/q
Its unit is Volt. It is a scalar quality.
